The clinic is equipped with a fully-licensed laboratory in microbiology - accredited by the LSPQ or Quebec Public Health Laboratory. A great number of our laboratory evaluations are performed on site, including the evaluation of vaginal secretions (the investigation of vaginal infections/ urethral infections), on-site cultures for the evaluation of gonorrhoea, urinary analysis, sedimentation rates and pregnancy tests. The laboratory also ensures the rapid and appropriate preparation of your samples requiring transportation to public laboratories where additional or confirmatory testing may be required.
In order to ensure quality control the clinic employs a full-time qualified laboratory technician - a member of the order of professional medical technologists, a technical assistant and a microbiologist-infectious diseases specialist. The maintenance of this on-site expertise is a costly endeavour, yet essential to the maintenance of the excellence offered to patients. It is for these reasons that the clinic is obliged to charge preparation and transport fees for your clinical samples/tests. Your financial contribution serves to ensure the maintenance as well as the improvement and development of diagnostic services.
If you are unable to meet this financial obligation, you may request diagnostic testing at your local CLSC or hospital diagnostic department. Please discuss your options with your physician.
